Holiday package Winter 7 Days

 7 days holidays with 3 days dog sled tour with a fisherman to experience the inuit traditional way of travelling. At night (with clear sky) you will be able to admire the fantastic and unique northern light that very often apper in the skys of Greenland. The tour will take you to the fishing spots and the “ Sermeq Avagnardleq “ glacier.

Programme

 

Day 1 Arrival in Ilulissat ín the afternoon. A guide will welcome you at the airport and will take you to the accommodation where there will be a short briefing on Ilulissat, Greenland and your escursions.
Day 2 At 10am departure for the 3 days dogsled excursion. The tour will take you to the fishing spot on the icefjord where you will be able to see the greenlandic fisherman getting Halibut setting the long line in a hole made in the pack ice. In the afternoon the sled will traqvel to the cabin where, after dinner, you will spend the night.
Day 3 After breakfast at the cabin the tour will be directed to Kangerssuneq fjord. Night at the cabin in Kangerssuneq.
Day 4  Departure for Ilulissat. From Kangerssuneq you will travel back to Ilulissat stopping in the village of Rodebay for lunch at the traditional restaurant H8. Arrival in Ilulissat around 4pm.Transfer to the accommodation.
Day 5 Guided tour of the city of Ilulissat. The city tour will start from the harbour where the Danish, in the beginning of 1700, had estabilished the settlement of Jakobshavn. You will then visit the church and the museum of the famous arctic explore Knud Rasmussen. In the afternoon the guide will take you the the valley of Sermermiut. A Short hike to visit an area where three culture of Inuits settled more than 4000 years ago.
Day 6 Morning free. In the afternoon there will be a 2,5 hours boat excursion to the icebergs of the Ilulissat icefjord.Night in Ilulissat.
Day 7  Transfer to the airport for departure.

The price includes:

- 3 days dogseldge tour full bord including Polar sleeping bag and mat;

- 4 night in Ilulissat with breakfast included (mini apartments accommodation do not have breakfast included);

- Transfer by bus to and from the Airport and to the excursions;
- Boat tour to the icebergs:

- Sermermiut hike;
- Guided city tour.

The price DO NOT include:
- Flights;
- Transfer, nights and meals in Copenaghen;
- Meals in Ilulissat;
- Everything that is not mentioned in "the price include";

Notes:

- The excursions can be cancelled or modified depending on the weather conditions, snow conditions on the sled tracks or for safety reasons. The excursion might not be able to reach all the destination listed on the itineraries above.
- Its required to the participants to have warm clothes and right equipment for the excursion. The average winter daily temperature are 15/20 degrees celsius below zero). The participants should also be in good phisical conditions. The excursion has a high level of difficulty.
- Its required to the participants to bring only one piece of luggage with a max weight of 15 kg.

- Seal skin clothes and boots can be rent with an additional cost per person.
